Work-Life Balance

The ultimate irony...we work to have quality life with the latest gizmos at our disposal making living a walk in the park; and we spend the better part of our lives only saving to buy that dream house or that dream car, only to realise we are way past the point where we could squeeze life till the last drop of joy.
The modern executive works out his individual schedule of 24 by 7 week into a meaningful mosaic of do's and dont's... and spends the rest of his life trying to achieve that golden balance between 'Workaholism' and the legendary ever-fiddling King Niro in burning Rome.
I have given up on sticking to a pattern. As that wise saying goes, " The journey itself is the destination"

Any takes??

Job Promotions versus Job Relocations

In a world taken apart by the monster called Recession, the rules of the game are being redefined. The people across the desk are trading places and the persecuted are turning out to be the terminated... It was raining 'Pink Slips' till recently. I still have the long-familiar shadow of fear of being the next to be shown the exit door... Seems like I am reaching the end of the tunnel... But light forever seems to be those two paces ahead....!!
Job promotions are hard to come by....even the few lucky ones to be offered promotions are forced to relocate to other locations with the company....!!

Office squabbles

Inter-personal skills are of paramount importance in a corporate hotchpotch of heterogeneous colleagues... There are 'N' number of employees with equal number of perceptions, preferences, quirks, and qualms. Getting your job done would be a piece of cake, had we been interacting with inanimate calculating machines we know of as desktops. But far from it! the surface friction of two polarised personalities grinding together toward the same corporate goal is anything but enjoyable. Now, add to this umpteen permutations and combinations...as many as the number of employees.... Now we see the enormity of the issue and the inevitability of personality clashes.
